Thermography Procedure

The test starts with your medical history being taken by a certified clinical thermographer. You will then disrobe the region being scanned. After the scanning is complete, the technician will review (not interpret) the images taken. Your information is then uploaded through a secure server and assigned to a medical doctor for final interpretation. This process is similar to sending x-rays to a radiologist for interpretation. Once we receive the report, we then forward a copy directly to you and any other health care practitioner requested. If you have any questions or concerns once receiving your results, we are always available to consult with you. Your images are archived for 7 years.

Visit Preparation

  • PLEASE CONTACT US IF you are under the age of 25, are currently pregnant, have breastfed, had any surgical procedure to the breasts including a biopsy, or have had chemotherapy or radiation treatment within the last 3 months. Your appointment may need to be rescheduled.

  • PLEASE CONTACT US IF you have a sunburn as your appointment may need to be rescheduled.

  • DO NOT consume hot or cold beverages 2 hours before your scan.

  • DO NOT use any deodorant, perfume, or lotion in the breast or armpit region 3 hours before your scan.

  • DO NOT participate in any vigorous exercise, massage therapy, chiropractic adjustments, or smoke 3 hours before your scan.

  • Full Body Screening Attire: if possible, please wear thong or bikini style underwear for women and briefs for men.

  • If you have long hair, please be prepared to tie it above your neck and shoulders.

  • If you have thick hair located on the area we are scanning (i.e. face/neck beard, excessive hair growth in armpits, on chest, or back), images may not come out as clear for interpretation because hair creates a barrier. You may consider shaving these areas prior to your appointment if they are your areas of concern. Shave at least 24 hours prior to your appointment so any skin inflammation or irritation caused by shaving can dissipate. Do not shave the hair on the scalp because there is no application for scanning the brain/scalp area.

Ultrasound Procedure

You will disrobe the region being scanned. The sonographer will apply a gel to the area being scanned. She holds a transducer, a hand-held device like a wand, which is then placed on your skin. Once completed, your images are then uploaded through a secure server to be interpreted by the Radiologist. Once we receive the report, we then forward a copy directly to you. Your images are archived for 7 years.
